Getting started with tax records

The financial record-keeping layer: transactions with their tax treatment, positions by period, and documents where you can find them.

Setup, once

  • Your tax profile: jurisdictions, registration numbers, rates that apply to you.
  • Where filings go — your accountant's details, unless we handle filings per your agreement.
  • A document retention preference, if you have one.

What is tracked

  • Transactions with tax applied at the time — the source of truth.
  • Liability positions by period, so nothing waits for filing season.
  • Documents filed against the right period: invoices, receipts, certificates.

See Tax records, liability, and documents.

Your first request

Most start the same way: "my accountant needs X for period Y." One ticket, structured export, done.
